Caramelized Onion and Lemon Labneh Dip
Creamy, tangy, slightly sweet, and perfect with crackers or roasted vegetables.
This dip transforms pantry ingredients into something unexpectedly elegant. Slowly caramelized onions bring deep sweetness that balances the bright lemony labneh underneath. A drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of herbs, and a pinch of chili flakes turn it into an appetizer worthy of a dinner party. It tastes even better after a few hours in the fridge, making it ideal for hosts who like to prepare ahead.
Ingredients
• 3 large onions, thinly sliced
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• Salt and black pepper
• 1 cup labneh or Greek yogurt
• 1 teaspoon lemon zest
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 garlic clove, finely grated
• 1 teaspoon chili flakes
• Fresh herbs (parsley, dill, or chives)
Instructions
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, salt, and pepper. Cook slowly, stirring often, until deeply caramelized, 25 to 30 minutes.
